Costa Rica La Minita Del Sol Gourmet Coffee

La Minita Del Sol is our headliner. It is grown between 4,000 and 6,000 feet above sea level, on a plantation with a unique micro-climate and is sun dried to help retain more of its natural sugars. La Minita has long been considered by many experts to be one of the worlds most exquisite coffees.

It is truly one of the last Estate coffees, as they oversee every aspect of the preparation, from nursery through final milling. The story begins with about 1,000,000 pounds of green coffee from the heart of the crop. Of this amount, only 289,000 pounds give or take will survive the mill classifications to be bagged for shipment.

This represents a selective process that reduces the finest raw material by 70%. This is an amazing statistic, especially considering the more than 30,000 man-hours of improvement by hand selection/sorting during final preparation. The outcome is a perfectly balanced cup with brilliant acidity, medium body, and sweet flavors of orange citrus, caramelized sugar, and fine chocolate.
